Landscaping by the Professionals

We offer the full array of landscape services. This includes planting of trees, shrubs and perennials. When a specific design calls for plants to be re-used, we transplant what is viable to its new location. If the lawn is in need of improvement, our options run from lawn renovation to a complete regarding and reseeding or sodding.

Plantings

Upon approval of the plan or estimate, we'll begin our process of making your home and garden look as beautiful as it can. We begin by laying out bed shapes and placing new plant material for your review. At this stage, onsite changes are easily made. We have a three-acre holding yard where we keep our top quality plants for upcoming projects, so adding or removing material is not a problem. Upon final approval of the layout, we plant, edge and mulch the bed.

We begin our planting process by carefully laying out the specified planting beds with a rope. We'll then shape these to our liking and place the plants. Our gardeners now go to work to expertly prepare the beds for the new plants. At this time, the client has the option of adding, moving, exchanging or removing any plant material. We are happy to offer this type of flexibility at no additional costs, as your total satisfaction is our goal. Upon approval, our experienced gardeners will plant the material and apply bark mulch around each plant. This helps to keep weeds down and holds moisture around the plants, ensuring the best results.

Transplantings

Transplanting is a very involved process, especially when it comes to moving trees and large plant material. Our qualified professionals have developed special techniques that ease the transition process for trees and plants both during and after transplantation. In addition, we have the equipment to handle all types of projects, large or small.

We start by hand digging around the tree, carefully pruning delicate roots along the way. A machine may be used to remove large amounts of soil around the tree to allow easier access for our men. When the root ball is fully pruned and shaped we add burlap and wrap the tree to assure stability during the move. The tree is then transferred to a new location, and carefully re-planted with proper handling and nourishment.

Lawns

We have the capacity and machinery to deal with all types of renovations. This may include a simple topdressing of a thin lawn or a more extensive rip out and replacement using seed or sod.

The process would start by analyzing the existing lawn for compaction, existing varieties of grass, exposure (sun vs. shade) and composition of existing soil. After that we would make our recommendation. This may include any of the following:

• Topdressing the existing lawn with topsoil, adding new seed and hay to help keep the moisture in.
• Completely removing and discarding any existing grass and adding the appropriate amount of fill and/or topsoil and then install new seed or sod.
